The dataset

We build practice intelligence the way a building goes up.

A list of names and phone numbers is a directory. Legacis starts where a directory stops. Every practice begins with a foundation of verified identity, drawn from official registers. Each floor above it answers a question that owners, acquirers and advisers actually ask: how big the practice is, what it builds, who owns it, and what is changing.

The floors
  • 07

    Legacis intelligence

Our own reading of the market, built on everything below it.

  • 06

    Momentum

What is changing: growth, moves, new licences, deals.

  • 05

    Standing

    Rankings, awards and press.

  • 04

    People and ownership

Who leads the practice, and how long they have held a licence.

  • 03

    What they do

Sectors and services, taken only from how the practice describes itself.

Reading every practice’s website is work for machines. Deciding what counts is ours.

  • 02

    Size and shape

Registered architects, offices and age. Where an exact figure can’t be trusted, we give a band.

  • 01

    Front door

The practice’s own website and company page, checked to be the right firm in the right city.

  • 00

    Foundation

Name, location and official registration, confirmed against the register that licenses the practice.

Shaded floors are complete for the leading practices in our built markets.

Three rules we build by

Nothing moves up a floor without a source and the date we captured it.

If we can’t verify it, we leave it out. A gap is honest. A guess is
